With only an hour to prepare this decadent dessert, it is a quick and simple way to have a tasty homemade cake from scratch.
Serving: One gluten-free chocolate cake serves ten people
Time: 60 minutes
Ingredients:
– 6 whole eggs
– 1 ½ cups sugar
– 8oz. quality bitter-sweet chocolate
– 1 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
– 1 cup cocoa powder
– 1 pinch salt
– 1 teaspoon orange extract
– ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease 9-inch spring-form pan and additionally line with parchment paper (or thoroughly grease pan if you do not have parchment paper) to prevent sticking.
- In a double-boiler melt the chocolate with butter. Stir until completely melted.
- Remove from the heat and whisk in the sugar. Once the sugar is dissolved, whisk in the eggs one at the time. Then whisk in the extracts.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and whisk until combined.
- Pour the mixture into prepared pan and bake for 40 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow cooling for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the pan and slice before serving.
