On November 23rd the White Carrot will host their third seven-course tasting menu. The first tasting menu was well received by the dozen guests who were treated to nine courses of fresh exciting dishes like Sous-vide Farro Island Salmon, which were expertly paired with wines from around the world.
As Chef Kiendl reminds us, visiting The White Carrot for this tasting menu is a unique chance “to depart from our regular menu and showcase some of the freshest and often limited produce we’re able to source.” But he is not the only one praising the quality of the ingredients, a VIP diner on Open Table who gave it 5-stars, said that it is a “superb tasting menu with very appropriate and interesting wine choices.”
Word got out about the first event and the attendance for the second tasting doubled. Owners Brian and Robin Kiendl said the tasting was a great success, but Brian humbly falls back on his favorite adage, “the chef is never better than his ingredients.”
Speaking of ingredients, it is the unique ingredients that will make the November 23rd tasting an all new twist on their tasting menu. The seven-course meal will have a Thanksgiving theme that will pull from the finest seasonal produce available. Keeping with this theme, this tasting menu will feature local wine, including wine from the acclaimed Mazza Vineyards, in addition to carefully selected international wines to make the flavors in each dish pop.
Chef Kiendl is tight-lipped about the exact lineup for the 23rd because he is still checking on availability of the freshest and most unique ingredients at the time. However, he did say that he intends to unveil a special dish consisting of wild mushrooms served with homemade gnocchi.
Given his penchant for creative expression, it will certainly be a night to anticipate and one that you will always remember.
Call (716) 269-6000 to make reservations and experience the event on Wednesday, November 23rd at 6:30 pm. Seven courses paired with wine for $120.
