Follow the simple instructions below and let us know if you have any exciting recipes for this monumental day of cheese appreciation!
Serves: 6
Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 9 oz. puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 4 oz. cooked diced ham
- ¼ cup diced roasted peppers
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (or fresh minced garlic)
- ½ cup cheddar cheese spread
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped basil
- 1 tablespoon water
Directions:
- Heat oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (alternatively, lightly grease the baking sheet).
- Slightly dust the working surface with flour and place the pastry sheet in front of you. Roll out the pastry sheet, just enough to flatten it nicely.
- Rapidly beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Then brush the puff pastry with your prepared egg wash.
- Combine the garlic powder (or fresh minced garlic), chopped basil, and cheddar cheese spread in a bowl. Spread the mix over the puff pastry.
- Generously scatter the ham, roasted peppers, and parsley over the pastry. Top with Parmesan cheese and roll the pastry starting at the left-hand side (the side closest to you).
- Once you have firmly rolled the pastry, cut it into 18 slices. Arrange the slices onto a baking sheet and brush them with the remaining egg wash. Bake the pinwheels for 18-20 minutes.
- It is important to serve the pinwheels while still hot for the most satisfying dining experience.
