Wine bars in Buffalo? Wine is the drink that dates back to ancient times, a delicate fermentation of grapes from the vine from all over the world. If you’re a big wine person, like I am, you know what I’m talking about. It’s one of the best things to happen to the world and one of the oldest ways to enjoy a drink.
Buffalo, New York is up and coming with a whole bunch of new places and new scenes. Not all the places we list are new, some are perennial favorites. Buffalo, and the surrounding suburbs of Buffalo, also has plenty of places to provide an experience of fine wines with delicious foods to accompany.
This list is a compilation of wine bars to fine dining restaurants. So, in no particular order, because we like to respect the opinions of others here, this is the top ten best places to get a nice glass of wine, whether it be the bar or with your dinner or on a night out with your friends.

Coco Bar & Bistro
The Coco Bar and Bistro is located at 888 Main St. In Downtown Buffalo, North of Shea’s Performing Arts Center and just around the corner from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, this little bistro, was a by-chance discovery of mine. I was in the area looking for a place to get a glass of wine with my mom the day before her birthday. So we decided to give it a try.
We had the house red and the house white and you might’ve seen these featured on our Instagram a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere of this little bistro is something that isn’t super common, which is why it made this list. Modeled after a Parisian bistro, Coco Bar & Bistro has warm colors and a selection of Happy Hour appetizers to die for. Along with this, there are inspiring quotes on the walls and live music on some nights.
The coolest part about this place? One wall is a spot where you can write your own inspiring quotes. Get encouraged by one of the contributions and inspire others with something of your own. Get yourself to Coco Bar & Bistro. It’s a good option right before a musical right down the street.

Black & Blue Steak and Crab
The next place on our list is Black & Blue Steak and Crab. This upscale and classy joint is located at 5493 Sheridan Drive in the heart of Amherst, NY. This lovely setting is not only great for a nice restaurant dinner or date night, but a fun place to meet for some awesome crab fondue and a nice glass of wine. When you walk in the door, there is a wall divider filled with wine to the ceiling. With pairings like a juicy, mid-rare steak for your red wines and seafood for your white wines, it has quite a selection. It is also a pleasant choice if you just want to sit at the bar and enjoy an evening with long leisurely sips from the glass of wine in your hand.
